Kenneth F.M. Bush CBE, 1938.
In 1938 Kenneth F.M. Bush succeeded to the small firm of Coulton & Son which practised from an office in King Street, King's Lynn, Norfolk.
Matthews & Co. of Swaffham, which was originally established in the late 19th century, was taken over in 1948 and a further branch at Downham Market was added more recently. All offices are manned by fully qualified solicitors and staff and offer a full range of services.
The firm has always fostered a strong involvement in community activities and is proud of the positive role which many of its present members take in local environmental, religious, sporting, artistic and other areas of community life. As most people need help from a solicitor at some time in their lives, this firm has regarded it as a main priority to offer a comprehensive specialist service.
Our Litigation Department deals with a whole range of civil and criminal work with individual specialities in personal injury and insurance claims, matrimonial and family law, industrial and employment law, town and country planning and licensing amongst many others.
Our Wills, Trusts and Probate Department advise on tax and financial matters assisting clients to preserve their family wealth. The expertise offered in company and commercial matters includes partnership and business law as well as patent, trade mark and copyright.
In addition to providing a complete conveyancing service, our Property Department has specialists in the domestic, agricultural and commercial fields. To augment the efficiency of our service, the firm has invested in computerised and word processing equipment and introduced modern management systems. At the same time, whilst we realise that technology can provide considerable benefits, it does not supersede the caring and personal service which we seek to provide.
